La Gerbe is a masterpiece of Matisse's late career, as it demonstrates his mastery of color, form, and composition.
It is composed of 18 glazed ceramic tiles that form a vibrant and abstract pattern of blue, yellow, and green shapes. The shapes resemble leaves, flowers, and fruits, suggesting a motif of nature and fertility. The mural was inspired by Matisse's paper cut-outs, a technique that he developed in the last decade of his life, when he was confined to a wheelchair and could not paint.

This print is produced using the giclee method, which ensures that it will retain its color and detail for years to come. Because of this large color gamut and the high resolution the original work is closely approximated. The applied pigment-based inks are UV resistant, which avoids discoloration.
